What should we bring?
Can we leave early?
Will there be snacks and refreshments?
Yes! We will provide refreshments for all HCOS Connect attendees. For the children’s program, each child will receive:
- Water bottle & juice box
- An orange
- Apple sauce
- Fruit Bar
- MadeGood pre-packed snack
If your child has dietary restrictions that these items don’t meet, please bring a prepared snack for them.
What student activities will be offered?
For students currently in Kindergarten to Grade 7 in Kelowna, Abbotsford, and Nanaimo, the student activities will be led by Giant Cow Ministries. Visit their website for more information:
For students currently in Kindergarten to Grade 7 in Prince George, activities will be led by local teachers.
For students currently in Grades 8 to 12 in all regions, they will spend time hanging out with their Academic Advisor and peers during the keynote, then join their parents for the workshops.
Can I bring younger siblings to Connect?
Programming is offered for students who are currently in Kindergarten to Grade 7. We ask families to make alternate arrangements for pre-K siblings. Babes-in-arms are welcome to attend workshops with parents.
Can I bring my children who attend other schools?
At this point, we have the capacity to offer student activities for HCOS and Flex students only.
Do we have to pick up/drop off kids during transitions?
Please drop off your kids at the beginning of the event and pick them up at the conclusion of the day. All other transitions will be handled by our caring staff members so that parents can fully enjoy the conference.
What items will be available at the Kelowna HCOS & Flex Connect BBQ?
How much does it cost to participate in Connect?
Connect is free! We are excited to gather with parents, students, educators, staff, and leadership in each region for an afternoon of learning and encouragement.
